Carved Sign

19th-century English gilded and ebonized wood sign advertising "Gudgeon & Sons". The Gudgeons were auctioneers based in Winchester, who remained in business for over 100 years. With its rich colors, unique graphic typeface, and beveled wood frame, this piece of original signage has a strong aesthetic appeal.
