Abstract Oil Painting

"Building Site" by artist Peggy Trotman, originally held in the collection of the Southampton Art Society. The oil on canvas painting has been framed in a simple, white painted wood frame and abstractly depicts the construction on a dock with a warm yet moody color palette.

Born in 1916 in Wiltshire, England, Trotman was a prolific self-taught artist who exhibited with the Royal Academy, the Royal West of England Academy, and the SEA. Her work is held in the permanent collections of the RWA, as well as the University of Oxford and the University of Bristol.
