Turn-of-the-century English paint sample board in a thin, rounded mahogany frame. This would have been used by a painter of material trompe l'oeil to show potential clients the number of different textures that could be achieved. The evocations of green, gray, and sand-colored marble are impressively rendered, and have been arranged in a beautiful, proto-Art Deco design.
